Kasimir Severinovich Malevich, born in Kiev on February 11, 1879, of Polish parents and died on May 15, 1935, in Leningrad, at the age of 57 from cancer, is one of the first abstract artists of the 20th century. Painter, draftsman, sculptor and theorist, Malevich is the creator of an artistic current which he called “suprematism”.
